Citrulline malate has been shown to improve muscle performance because it increases aerobic energy production and delays fatigue. Citrulline malate reduces the buildup of lactic acid and ammonia and accelerates muscle recovery by increasing the rate of creatine phosphate and ATP resynthesis.

Additionally, at the same dose, citrulline malate is more effective at increasing arginine levels in the body than arginine itself. And as we know, arginine increases NO (nitric oxide) levels for a better pump as well as improved oxygen and nutrient delivery.
