As an important co-factor of vitamin D3, vitamin K2 supports calcium transport in the body and in this way contributes to the maintenance of normal bones. Each drop contains 20 mcg of vitamin K2 - we recommend taking 10 drops daily and thus supplying the body with a total of 200 mcg of vitamin K2. The daily dose of 200 mcg vitamin K2 corresponds to 267% of the daily reference amount according to EU Regulation 1169/2011 and is therefore an optimally high dose. With K2VITAL® from Kappa Bioscience, we use a particularly high-quality vitamin K2 raw material with an all-trans content of more than 99.7%. One bottle (50 ml) contains 1800 drops and is therefore sufficient for 180 days or applications with 10 drops each.

Vitamin K2 effect - task and function of vitamin K2 in the body
Vitamin K2 (menaquinone) together with vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) forms the group of fat-soluble K vitamins. Vitamin K1 and K2 each have different tasks and functions in the body: Vitamin K1 helps the body to activate important protein building blocks and in this way contributes to normal blood clotting.

Vitamin K2 in turn activates the so-called matrix GLA protein (also called MGP) and the peptide hormone osteocalcin. The matrix GLA protein binds calcium in the blood and in this way prevents calcium from being deposited in the vessel walls. The osteocalcin helps the body ultimately store the calcium in the bones.

To put it simply: Vitamin K2 ensures that the calcium absorbed from food is transported to the right places and incorporated there. In this way, vitamin K2 contributes to the maintenance of normal bones.
